YouTube Search, Fixed is an independent browser extension maintained by Chaitanya Pareek. Contact: chaitanyap.work@gmail.com.
The extension reads visible YouTube search results, including video links, relative upload dates and view counts, to reorder results in your browser. It reads the current search query to build date-range searches. It does not read your watch history, passwords, payment information or private messages.
Preferences (enabled state, sort order and Shorts visibility) are stored in chrome.storage.local in your browser profile. Parsed results and checked upload dates are held in memory for the page session, not saved to a developer database. Uninstalling removes stored preferences.
Choosing a date range sends your search terms and date operators to YouTube through a normal search navigation. Find more results scrolls the page so YouTube can request additional results. Check upload dates requests up to 20 public YouTube watch pages per click with account credentials omitted. YouTube still receives ordinary request information, including your IP address. YouTube and Google process these requests under their own policies.
No information is sent to a developer server. We do not use analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking pixels or remote executable code. We do not sell, rent or transfer your information to advertisers or data brokers.
Storage saves your preferences. Access to www.youtube.com is needed to read and reorder search results, insert controls and retrieve requested public upload-date metadata. The extension does not access other websites or general browsing history.
Disable the extension in its popup to remove its controls and restore loaded video order. Date checks and loading additional results run only when requested. Uninstall to remove preferences. Closing or refreshing a page clears its temporary parsed results.
Email chaitanyap.work@gmail.com with privacy or support questions. If you email us, your email provider and ours handle that message; we use its contents to respond to your request. Policy changes will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
